Your servers might be on fire, but unless somebody identifies a regression with upgrades involving features that could have already been working, it's still probably not happening. 3.3.0 is the next patch, that's it.
We don't deliberately break things in minor releases. A lot of open source projects either don't care, or treat minors as what we call majors (e.g., Jetty does that). That's why we have the policy we do and why it's not unreasonable.
It was entirely unreasonable for a decent stretch of the V2 IdP's life, and while I regret that, I wasn't the reason and I can't undo it. I can only promise V3 isn't going to be like that.
