Looking for SAML 1.1 Metadata XML schema file

Yes, you can describe SAML1 entities (and in fact non-SAML entities)
in SAML 2.0 Metadata just fine.

There's a Profile of SAML2.0 metadata for SAML1.x (as I've just
discovered) but that doesn't match the namespace URI you posted either
(so is unrelated to the metadata you recived, and shall probably
remain in obscurity).

I had not seen that before but it's a *Draft* document from 2003.
Not something you'd base an implementation on you expect to be
interoperable.

Anyway, the saml-dev at lists.oasis-open.org list is probably a better
place for this discussion?
