That's the obvious answer if you are the one curating the metadata
anyway.
If you meant overriding externally provided metadata by creating
duplicate entity descriptors in another metadata provider, I wouldn't
do that, as you've now created the work for yourself to keep those
duplicates up-to-date.
So in case you're not the one providing or curating that metadata I'd
add another item to your list: Asking the owner or maintainer of the
metadata to add the info to the entity. That also benefits everyone
consuming that metadata feed, contrary to your admirable local hacks.
