Authentication to ECP in V3 is built-in. There's nothing you need to do and you should *not* configure the container to do it unless you need to for some reason. As long as you're using the Password login flow in the IdP, it will just work for any client that provides the credentials to the ECP endpoint without being challenged for them.

This has nothing to do with Shibboleth. If you want to use Jetty that way, that's beyond the scope of what we document or support, since the IdP doesn't need it. One of the areas of Jetty that's worse than Tomcat in terms of complexity is container authentication.
