It does so automatically. Whatever is requested gets filtered against the supported methods to pick which one to run.

It doesn't say anything like that. It says a single instance of the login handler doesn't allow for more than one. It doesn't say anything about multiple instances.

Leaving all this aside, you are using dead code. Just stop, and upgrade. And then it's automatic.
