I just figured out what was wrong. The metadata I got from them had
urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:2.0:nameid-format:unspecified, and I had urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:1.1:nameid-format:unspecified.
When I made those both 1.1, it started working.
