That isn't what I meant. That error isn't coming from the SP (I don't think), so I asked what software it is coming from. V2 might have an error message like that embedded in its primitive logout support, I don't know. V3 certainly doesn't, because it supports decrypting the ID.

If you turn off encryption, it should fix that error from an IdP by avoiding the problem. I don't know what "really broke it" means.
