[IDP v3.2.1] Empty logs/ directory

Debian Jessie
OpenJDK 7
Apache Tomcat 8
IdP v3.2.1

I have installed the IdP v3.2.1 served it using tomcat8, but my
/opt/shibboleth-idp/logs directory is empty. Changed permissions to this
folder to 666, still it is empty. There is no errors in tomcat logs while
booting up the IdP.

What else can cause this?
