How would we turn off the canonicalization altogether? (In case we do end up going that route.) As far as I know I didn't explicitly turn it on (on purpose, that is!), but it's quite possible I may have somehow turned it on as a side effect while setting up the intended configurations.
Is it recommended or common practice to have the canonicalization on in general?
