I agree. And there seems to be a bit of momentum within a handful of
federations to move to NameID in the Assertion's Subject (like
saml2int has recommended for years now), which should lead to
identifying those SP that are not yet prepared to get the info from
there. So over time this may get better for deployers. But then
everything in this space seems to take years...
