Similar Experience with us at UF..    ,   THE client security leverages some data from non SHIB sources.   

Web stuff we secured with Shib.     The question should never be asked "do you support SAML2"   /  Vendor say yes..  then we m ust say show me how and you specific s before a purchase gets made.  

We to heard of the future promises.    I can talk to our Hyland folks a bit to see if there is a horizon for change that is known.
