VMware Identity Manager

James,

Not having done the integration, I apologize, I can still point out one thing that you’ll need to fix. Whatever is invoking your identity provider is doing so in a way that isn’t including the providerId(entityID) of your SP. You’ll need to modify the inbound URL/process that kicks the entire thing off to include the service to end up at.

This is the closest I know of to documentation of that protocol that isn’t older than time itself:

https://wiki.shibboleth.net/confluence/display/SHIB2/IdPUnsolicitedSSO

Take care,
Nate.

Does anyone have any experience adding a Shibboleth IdP as a third-party IdP to VMware Identity Manager (formerly VMware Workspace)? I’ve searched the web and cannot find any documentation or examples of this being done but VMware claims it can be done. I’ve added my IdP but receive errors when trying to login to Identity Manager. I see the following error when trying to login: Error decoding Shibboleth SSO request. I also see the following error in my IdP logs: No providerId parameter given in Shibboleth SSO authentication request.

Thanks,

James
