Error Downloading Metadata

I'm working to migrate to IdP v3.  On my new server, I'm running into an issue downloading metadata from one of my SPs.  I receive the following error in my idp-porcess.log:

Error retrieving metadata from metadataurl javax.net.ssl.SSLProtocolException: handshake alert:  unrecognized_name

Any idea what this error means?
