You can have the IDP delegate primary authentication to your Jasig CAS 
server using Unicon's plugin or the RemoteUser authn method in the IDP.

Or you could probably upgrade to Apereo CAS v5.0 and use their SAML 
support.  I'm not familiar with the SAML support in CAS v5.0, but it's 
there.
