It's a lot of personal preference what's easiest or not, but if you mean are there any regex predicate shortcuts, no, nobody has filed any RFEs for them.

Scripts or Spring expressions tend to be simpler to me, but those are less efficient too.

You don't have to put things there to use them in some other file, you can just put them in the other file, unless the point is to be sharing the beans I guess.
