Hello, all,
The InCommon Federation [1] has created a new working group to make integration between identity providers and service providers easier in research and higher-ed. While deployment profiles currently exist such as SAML2Int [2], they're too general to address many of the specifics in the R&E landscape.
This group is charged with developing a deployment profile based on best practices. The profile can aid IDP and SP operators internationally to allow them to operate more smoothly with and among federations like InCommon that serve research and higher-ed.
The working group needs your input!
Whether you're a research service provider operator with specific needs that aren't being met today, an IDP operator with pain points to share, or a federation operator who has had to mediate deployment challenges, your input is essential to the success of this group.
Even though this is an InCommon effort, its scope and impact isglobal. International participation is strongly encouraged.
Please visit the Deployment Profile Working Group wiki page at
https://spaces.internet2.edu/display/DPWG
There you will find instructions for joining the email list and a link to a poll to find a slot for a weekly call, as well as the working group charter and more information.
For your convenience, you can also access the meeting time poll here:
http://foodl.org/foodle/SAML-Deployment-Profile-Working-Group-57c5f
The poll will be available through next Thursday, September 8 at 5:00 PM US pacific time. Working group calls will begin on or around the week of September 12.
Please forward this note to anyone that you think can provide input and thank you for your consideration.
