Except OpenJDK is never really the same, that's the problem. It's all fine until it isn't.

I have never heard of a system change required to enable the default scripting implementation. I suppose there might be a Tomcat setting involved, but I've never heard of anything like that either. There had to be a change between the time it was working and now isn't, unless it never worked...
