You can stop right there.

The current stable SP release is 2.5.5, and wheezy-backports at least
has 2.5.3.
Alternatively SWITCHaai provides 3rd party packages for more platforms
and releases than you should care about (w/o support, note their
disclaimer).

So no reason to build anything on Debian, and especially not a 5 year
old release with published security issues, cf.
