Hmmm.  That apache client is going to haunt me.

I'd be very interested to see a trace of a reload with

	org.opensaml.saml.metadata.resolver
and 
	org.apache.http.client

set to DEBUG.  But beware that the latter can be a bit noisy.  If people
want to send me the log directory (dropbox also works and might be better)
I'll report back if we discover anything.
