Encrypting the IdPs assertion to an SP

FYI, I was never able to make Salesforce work with encryption enabled. The errors were very misleading and I was somewhat stubborn with the RemedyForce support people from BMC when they tried to get me to test it without encryption, but that did turn out to be the problem. I gave up, particularly in light of the requirement by Salesforce to use an expiring certificate for encryption that they would force me to manually roll over every year or two.
