idp-access.log in v3 IdP?

Out of interest, what was the reason for removing access log config (and
therefore the Shibboleth-Access log lines in the process log and
idp-access.log) in the v3 IdP? I've found Shibboleth-Access log messages
at INFO useful for debugging while working on the UK federation
helpdesk, as it's a clear indication that the IdP has received a HTTP
request. We often don't have much to go on.
I'm not sure how to add these loglines back in to the process log.
Reversing the changes in
http://svn.shibboleth.net/view/java-identity-provider/trunk/idp-conf/src/main/resources/conf/logback.xml?r1=6667&r2=6669
doesn't seem to work. It does create an idp-access.log file, but there
are no messages logged to it.
Thanks,
Alex
