“Installed correctly” is a very deployment-specific question that we can’t answer for you.  For a simple sanity check, you can typically go to:

https://localhost/Shibboleth.sso/Status

This is case sensitive.

For real interoperability verification, you’ll generally want to try things out with a testing service like TestShib, and then work things out with your IdP partners.
