hostname only from entityID URL

Hello,

I wonder why

<idpui:serviceName/> (
https://wiki.shibboleth.net/confluence/display/SHIB2/IdPAuthUserPassLoginPage
)

gets only the hostname of the URL formatted entityID as:

http://svn.shibboleth.net/view/java-shib-idp2/tags/2.4.4/src/main/java/edu/internet2/middleware/shibboleth/idp/ui/ServiceTagSupport.java?revision=3214&view=markup

when I can imagine that multiple SPs are deployed to the same host.
