convert uid to lowercase

Is the SP running one of your own webapps? If so, could you just not modify your webapp to convert the attribute to all lower case?

I have Idp 2 not version 3. So  is there any way to change the uid to lowercase in Idp2? The SP is having problems. What is the code on SP side to look for case-insensitive uid?
