I think V3 did this correctly (the SourceAttribute ID is used after collecting up all the dependent attributes/values to pull out the exact values for that specific attribute).

Definitely file this. Since the V2 behavior seems worthless to me (that would be a kind way of saying it), we might be able to fix this as part of the final V2 roll up. I don't think breaking useless, harmful behavior would be a dealbreaker esp. if it actually matches what V3 is doing.
