Trying to get Shibboleth and google apps working

What are you trying to do? 
Just hook up your IdP to google apps? Or use google login for something?

If the former then dig in the archives there are a lot of google threads. 
The basics are you need to send a single value to google from your IdP .
The NameID (subject) of your response needs to exactly match the provisioned user on the google side.

So you need to send an identifier such as "user at domain.suffix” in the proper format.
