Shibboleth IdP 3 - Stale Session

Is there a way to extend the time between a user being redirected to the
IdP for authentication and the session/cookie expires?

We have users who get redirected, but then pause on the Username/Password
page for several minutes before entering their credentials. Once they enter
their credentials, they get a "Stale session" error.

This timeout happens after 2 minutes on Firefox.
