Sure. To me you just kept equating the EDS with one-DS-per-SP and the
CDS with "a centralized DS", i.e., nothing you wrote touched upon the
suggestion to use the EDS /software/ also as a /central service/.
Apologies when that was all clear to you from the beginning, but that
wasn't appearent to me from what you wrote.

Personally I think I'd want a DS with the UI from the current
SWITCHwayf (but w/o requiring PHP on a server, or including JavaScript
remotely from there) that has typeahead, mini-logos/favicons and the
dropdown list all in /one/ UI element (the EDS makes you chose between
input field and dropdown list), makes it possible to "overlay" the UI
onto a web site like DiscoJuice (but w/o depending on a central
service like discojuice.org), and feed it from the Shibboleth SP.
Maybe a summer project for someone wanting to dabble with JavaScript
and CSS? The pieces are all there... ;)
