I'll aim to get the v3 one doing everything v2 does currently initially then, then look at migrating one thing at a time to the new format. Google I remember being a faff, and Forefront is probably going to cause enough headaches to be going on with.
Sara - did you say you'd helped someone do an IdP deployment behind Forefront? If so, I'll be sending you questions if we hit brick walls!

Well, that wouldn't be reusing your config, it would be modifying it to use the new capabilities in place of the deprecated ones.
Normally I would suggest reusing most of the old settings so things work, and then migrating them.
