Google Doc Redirects

We set our endpoint in index.html by auto re-directing the user to

https://www.google.com/a/apps.losrios.edu/ServiceLogin?service=cl&passive=true&continue=https://sites.google.com/a/apps.losrios.edu/start

and then the link redirects the user to login.html for authentication.

I'm pretty sure this is not the correct setup. This project is sort of a hand-me-down. I'm still trying to figure out what's what.

Then you're not using SAML or Shibboleth, so it's not really a question for this list. Or that isn't in fact what's happening, I guess.

Using Google Apps with Shibboleth implies a SAML 2 AuthnRequest sent to the SSO endpoint in the IdP.
