I would imagine the IdP is configured in the default manner of not pushing 
attributes and your SP is probably attempting an attribute query and 
failing. That could be firewall, not fully configuring the IdP for back 
channel / SOAP support, etc.

Nothing. If there's nothing in the log clearly indicating that it failed 
at the query step, I'll be very surprised.
