I don't know if that guide is right or not. We have documentation for each 
product alone, and that's where the effort goes.

As far as the metadata is concerned, the Metadata topic is the 
introduction to the subject.

The metadata generated by the IdP installer in both versions is roughly 
correct as a starting point in terms of the technical details for an IdP's 
metadata. So whatever you used, you're not using that, and I don't have 
any real insight beyond that as to what you did give it.

The metadata generated by the SP at /Shibboleth.sso/Metadata is an example 
for an SP that is mostly right and is also suitable to pull off and load.
