remote access to aacli?

The IdP v3 version of aacli talks to the live shibboleth instance via
localhost.

Our business analysts have expressed the desire to use aacli as part of
production support, but we'd rather not have them logging into the IdPs
themselves.

Short of tunneling, is there a means to make aacli accessible from a
trusted remote host?
