Shibboleth SP shibd.exe wont start after 2.5.4 patch 1 64bit update

I spent a few minutes on a quick test of the 64-bit installer (not the patch) and it seemed to be fine, no problems with shibd starting up.

The patch might be corrupt I guess but it should only be replacing libcurl with the same DLL that worked in my test. I'll give the patch a more thorough check at the next opportunity, but I patched a 32-bit SP with it weeks ago without incident.
