configuring Shib IdP 3.0 for per-SP metadata

You’ve probably heard by now that Shibboleth IdP 3.0 was released last
month. [1] One of the many cool new features of Shib IdP V3 is support
for the Metadata Query Protocol (i.e., per-entity metadata). This
feature prompted InCommon to add per-SP metadata to its Metadata Query
Server running at mdq-beta.incommon.org. This server sources SAML
metadata from both InCommon metadata and eduGAIN metadata. Currently
there are more than 1500 IdP entity descriptors and 3100 SP entity
descriptors served from mdq-beta.incommon.org.

If you are an InCommon participant (and even if you’re not), consider
pointing your test instance of Shib IdP V3 at mdq-beta.incommon.org.
