need help with Shibboleth IDP 3.0 installation

Based on your email address, I just realized that you're from Cornell. 
The other person to have a similar issue was Joy Veronneau, also from
Cornell.  So perhaps you guys are/were dealing with the same scripts here...

Anyway, mystery solved.
