DNS changes affecting SP endpoints

Thanks for your response. I've added an additional Host entry to the RequestMap section which has the "shib" hostname in it. This Host entry has an applicationId of "shib", and then I have an ApplicationOverride element with id "shib" and a handlerURL set to the absolute URL to the "shib" url (http://shib.domain.com/Shibboleth.sso).


Is this the right idea?

The process you described is exactly what I would suggest, though of course you'll want to also remove the old endpoints at the end.  I'd also beware of any data leakage to the wrong application as you go through the process, since the IdP's will consider both endpoints to be equally valid.
