Reproduced that case, same log output as yours at the beginning, but no failure at the session creation step.

I'm fairly stumped and this is where I definitely park any investigating without reproducing on Oracle Java.

At that point I definitely will need some tracing done, but I know you sent me some links to try that might let me trace it a bit.

I will probably look at hardening this code a bit, though.
