We are now recruiting for a talented and hardworking individual for the L&RD Manager post. This is key role to work with the L&RD team to support and develop the University's Library, Research and eLearning related systems.
This role will challenge you to use a mixture of skills - not only to manage and motivate a strong team but to contribute your technical skills to support the team in delivering a range of key services, resolving technical issues and developing systems. It is being offered on a two year fixed-term contract in the first instance.

This post is full time and fixed term for 2 years
The Interim Learning and Research System Development (L&RD) Manager plays a key role in delivering University's central learning and research IT Systems. This role has responsibility for leading and motivating the team who run the university's VLE, ePortfolio system, Library catalogue, Resource Discovery system and Academic repository. They are also responsible for managing a portfolio of IT systems projects.
In this role, you will be working in a supportive and collaborative environment where it is important to deliver the best business value possible across a range of projects. You will promote excellence both in the team culture and service delivery.
To be successful in this role you will:
* Be a supportive team worker, ready to manage a team of talented IT specialists. You empower your staff to get the most out of systems, improve efficiency, make evidence driven decisions and get the best business value for new development projects.
* Be an excellent communicator who has experience delivering successful IT projects and is able to inspire and motivate a team
* Have a degree or equivalent in a relevant field and experience in progressively responsible IT related roles
* Be familiar with software development, operational delivery, IT support, ITIL processes and formal project management principles.
