I imagine Brent's doing what I did and assuming that a pluggable
resolution string plus a standard HTTP client = compatible.

If the spec turns out to require anything but "curl -k https://whatever"
at the end of the day for a basic lookup, I think we'll know we screwed up
somewhere.
