IdPAddAttribute using HTTP Request Headers

The RemoteUser LoginHandler authenticates using the REMOTE_USER request 
header set by the IdP.

Is there a way to pass then pass the RemoteUser as an attribute to the SP?

Is there a way to use other request header values set a third-party SSO 
system at the IdP?
