Also, I forgot to ask, in the event we need to investigate doing this ourselves is there a preferred "how-to" guide for writing for writing Shibboleth plugins or some sample code that people feel is a particularly good example or starting point?

Subject: CAS ClearPass-like setup in Shibboleth?
Right now, we're using CAS as an authentication end-point because the ClearPass module they provide allows us to do "Single Sign-On" to various third-party applications that don't support any SSO methods via form replay. In the back-end, when a user logs in to CAS their clear-text password is stored in an encrypted in-memory hash which can be retrieved via a request (by default, to /cas/clearPass) from an authorized source. Is there any way to implement a similar thing in Shibboleth?
