Yes, and because shibd is only half of the implementation. The processes
are just different and don't share the same privileges, so if you want one
log sink, you'd use syslog (which I have never used with the library and
have no idea of its robustness).

native.log is infrequently needed, and best just left on its own for the
rare instances it's useful.
