Since the paths show that it's not an RPM install, I can safely say you
have a corrupt build, there's probably mixing of OpenSSL libraries going
on somewhere in the stack. I'd run some ldd's on the various libraries and
try and pick up a mismatch somewhere, but it's very possible you won't
spot it there because it may be a case of building against one set of libs
and running against another.
But that's very likely the cause.
