StoredID data connector: what happens when the database goes down?

Hi, all,

I'm preparing to move us to the stored id data connector from computed id.

My question is what happens when my database goes down? I don't see any references on the wiki to this. I'm assuming that if it can't find an existing stored id for any reason, whether it's that the user doesn't have one yet or the database is unavailable, it just computes one. Is that correct?
