Saving shibd session state during restarts

I just looked at the NativeSPStorageService wiki page and do see a
mention of memcache. Do you or anyone know if this is considered "beta"
quality like the DB/ODBC plugin?
Also, since I don't know much about memcache other than the link
included in the NativeSPStorageService wiki page is anyone on this list
using it successfully in a production environment. If so, is there any
more instructions/information on it's setup? The wiki page doesn't
really say much other than going to http://www.danga.com/memcached and
needing to look at NativeSPOutOfProcess.
Thanks Peter for your response too. It does sound like if an option
like that is wanted by us we'd have to write it and then go thru the
review process at a time that is good for the main developers.
Thanks to both of you for your comments,
Lenny
