Custom UserPassword Authentication

Hi All,

We need to implement a authentication in the following order:

1- User enters user and password in a login page
2- Validate the user and password against a external service that doesn't
implement any standard.
3- Back to SP

We need to keep SSO support.

Could you please help us? Which is the best approach to use? Should we add
our userPassword servlet and custom login handler?
