unable to locate compatible SSO service for provider

While connecting a new IDP to my Shibboleth IIS SP, I see this warning in the logs (and indeed it does not work).

unable to locate compatible SSO service for provider


Looking in the WIKI I do not see this error:  https://wiki.shibboleth.net/confluence/display/SHIB2/NativeSPTroubleshootingCommonErrors

Service endpoints in the metadata for this IDP are:

    <md:NameIDFormat>urn:mace:shibboleth:1.0:nameIdentifier</md:NameIDFormat>
    <md:SingleSignOnService Binding="urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:2.0:bindings:HTTP-POST" Location="http://iconnect.thermofisher.net/samlauth/Lynda.com/SSOPOST/metaAlias/idp"/>
    <md:SingleSignOnService Binding="urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:2.0:bindings:SOAP" Location="http://iconnect.thermofisher.net/samlauth/Lynda.com/SSOSoap/metaAlias/idp"/>
    <md:SingleSignOnService Binding="urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:2.0:bindings:SOAP" Location="http://iconnect.thermofisher.net/samlauth/Lynda.com/NIMSoap/metaAlias/idp"/>

Can anyone shed some light?
