Note then that you have verified the metadata to be schema invalid
(though hardly any tool will report that).

At least in academia you'll find that most entities are now using the
prefixed form (following the UK federation's example and discussions
on REFEDS, with a bit of mostly unintended pressure from the Shib IdP,
which reported errors when using SP metadata on the login page when
EmailAdress values were lacking the prefix, maybe it still does).
