I think you're being led astray. A quick read of (http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-hunt-scim-directory-00)  seems to say that SCIM has this, and they're attempting to sort of map it in to an LDAPv3 compatible name space.

That seems to be correct, based on the draft cited above.
